A neat and understated William IV period chest of drawers of the finest quality and lovely proportion, almost certainly by the renowned cabinet maker, Gillows of Lancaster and London.  The chest is crafted from solid mahogany of lovely colour and figure and has two short and three long, oak-lined drawers.  Each drawer is fitted with the original solid ebony handles and the piece retains all of the original locks and escutcheons. The chest, with panelled back, is raised on decorative turned feet. English, Circa 1835-45.
