A 19th century coopered box of oval form with notched edge and two contrasting brass bands crafted from oak of lovely figure and colour.  The lid lifts off by means of a wooden finial and the underside is painted with the intials of the original owner, WTdJ and the date 1877.  Origin: Probably Dutch.
