A good quality, practical, late 19th century bread tray in papier mache. The shaped oval, black tray with attractive scalloped edge is decorated with all-over star motifs and a gilded rim. A useful piece for use as originally intended or as a chic 'tidy' on a desk or dressing table. Origin: France. Circa 1880.
