A superb quality, Regency period 'Deception' or small 'Pembroke' table in mahogany of lovely colour and figure. The free-standing table is of practical small size and has drop leaves to either side with a decorative reeded edge which, when raised, double the size of the top. The front flap, dressed as two cock-beaded drawers with brass knobs and escutcheon, drops down to reveal the interior cabinet. The table is raised on four elegantly turned legs terminating in their original brass cup castors. Circa 1810-20.
