Rare and of exceptional quality, a Regency period boot jack, crafted from solid rosewood of lovely figure and colour in the form of a lady's leg.  The book jack opens on brass hinges to reveal two compartments containing the original steel tools and boot pulls.  Two jack is raised on two quality brass retaining posts which lift the piece enough to insert one's heel to aid in the removal of riding boots.  A wonderful item of social history remaining in pristine condition.  Circa 1820.
