An exceptional quality, early 19th century folding coaching table in mahogany, The table, raised on an X-frame base with turned stretcher, folds in the centre for ease of storage. Unusually and underlining the quality of the piece, the tops of the legs are ornamented with a foliate motif. Circa 1830.
Tables of this form are known as 'coaching' or 'campaign' tables as they were ideal for use on long carriage journeys.
