A particularly unusual and fine quality pair of 19th century glass and nickel silver epergnes in the form of nautilus shells on a naturalistic base.  The well cast bases with shell motifs rise on a 'coral' stem which holds the fine quality glass nautilus shells in place.  Decorative ornaments for the mantelpiece or dining table.  Stourbridge, England. Circa 1860.
