19th century Salviati carafe

An exuberant 19th century 'Venetian Revival' amber glass carafe with gilded highlights by the highly reputed firm of Murano glass makers, Salviati.  The carafe, based on a 16th century design, is with wrythen neck and body and is decorated with crimped trailing to the leading edges and applied floral paterae to either side.  Circa 1880.
