A beautiful Meiji period Japanese Verte-Imari bowl of large size and striking sectional design featuring panels of blue and white, iron red and green with fish, floral and geometric designs possibly replicating textiles of the period.  The exterior is decorated with stylised bird and cloud motifs.  A wonderful, decorative piece remaining in excellent condition. Origin: Arita, Japan. Circa 1880.
