A rare and decorative, 18th century French lidded chocolate or coffee pot in quality brass with original turned and ebonised wooden handle,  Circa 1760.

A similar example can be see in the painting of 'The Lavergne Family Breakfast' by Jean-Etienne Liotard in the National Gallery, London.
