Dimensions:
A Somalian headrest of striking silhouette carved from solid wood and now of a rich patina. The headrest, of stylised horn shape, rises from a central column and terminates in a round base. The underside is with subtle carved decoration. Headrests were used both as a pillow and to protect elaborate hairstyles. Origin: Somalia. 20th century.
