An elegant Georgian Sterling silver sugar basket with handle, hallmarked by George Smith (II) and Thomas Hayter (Smith's son-in-law) and dated 1800.  The navette shaped bowl rises from an oval base and is beautifully chased with leaf and floral motifs above an oval cartouche to both sides.  The handle is impressed with the lion passant mark.  London, 1800.
