Code: FL5022

W: 6cm (2.4")H: 5cm (2")L: 9cm (3.5")

A fine quality mid 19th century conch shell, carved in bas relief to reveal the Lord's Prayer in beautiful Gothic and italic fonts.  The shell is a form of scrimshaw and was possibly carved by a sailor in his idle moments on board ship.  Circa 1840.
